Dog’s on the Phone

Thirty three percent of dog owners admit to talking to their dog over the telephone, often leaving them messages on the answering machine.  They know it is you, they just don’t understand how you fit in that small phone!

Dog adoptions is Healthy

Studies indicate that petting your dog can lower your blood pressure.  Dogs are very intuitive.  They do get pleasure from your pets, pats and kisses but when you come home from a stressful day at work your blood pressure can go down about 10 points!

Dog’s for Protection

Dogs’ sense of hearing can reach four times the distance of humans.  They can hear footsteps from 100 yards away!  They know exactly when someone is approaching their house and will respond with raised ears and barking if they see fit!  They will also give you the alert when any cat enters your yard, sometimes birds as well!

Special Dog Odors

Dog body odor called “Frito Feet,” is the bacteria collected on dogs’ paws that often smell like the popular salty snack.

Dog Photo Bomb

Fifty-eight percent of dog owners include their dogs in their annual holiday photos.  Dogs are part of our family and should be included in our photos!  What is wrong with you people?  The other 42 percent that do not include them are crazy!

Dog’s Can Spell and Do Math

A typical dog has the same brain aptitude level as a toddler.  Dogs can comprehend about 250 words and are capable of counting up to five.  My dogs understand many words, be careful when you start spelling out words, they will understand … eventually!  Do not forget Planet of the Apes!

Dogs Can Read Body Language

Why does your dog know when you are going to take them for a walk?  OK, they see you reach for the leash and maybe it is the same time every day.  When you grab that leash and take them on a fun car trip they are excited to go and love the adventure!  But, How does your dog  know when you are going to take them to the Veterinarian?  You reach for the same leash and they run and hide!  I try not to talk about going to the Vet because I think they know what that word means but they still seem to know!

Dogs Have Excellent Internal Clocks

My dog will wake me up the same time every day regardless of where we are, at home, camping, at another house.  They have the same type of internal clocks that we do except they do not understand what a “sleep in” day is!

Dogs are not colorblind.  They are able to detect color in their vision, just not as vividly as humans can.
